What is the Vampire Facial®?
The Vampire Facial® is a type of microneedling treatment that incorporates the use of Platelet-Rich Plasma, also known as PRP. The Vampire Facial® earned its name for this reason. Just like Dracula survives off of blood, the Vampire Facial® uses your own blood, and we use the clear part loaded with messengers to recruit stem cells to restore collagen production in the skin, which aids in the healing process of the microneedling.
How Does the Treatment Work?
The Vampire Facial® works just like a regular microneedling treatment but with a twist. Prior to the treatment beginning, the provider will draw your blood from your arm, then take that blood and place it in a centrifuge machine that will spin it down and separate the PRP from the rest of the blood.
The microneedling treatment works by the microneedling device creating tiny, micro-injuries in the skin which stimulates collagen production and healing, allowing the skin to be relieved of blemishes like scarring, large pores, uneven texture, and hyperpigmentation.
After the microneedling treatment is complete, the provider will take the PRP and apply it topically back to the face. The PRP acts as a natural growth factor and gives the microneedling the boost it needs to make your results even better!
The PRP also helps to relieve side effects of the microneedling like redness and inflammation!
One common myth about PRP therapy is that actual blood is applied to the client’s face. This is not true! The PRP solution is a yellowish, straw-colored liquid that is derived from the patient’s own blood but does not contain any red blood cells. The solution is sterile and is processed in a medical-grade centrifuge to ensure that it is safe for use. At Front Door, we will only be using an FDA approved centrifuge.
Not Scary at All!
Despite the name, this treatment is completely comfortable and easy! The provider will apply topical numbing cream to your face prior to the microneedling so you will be relaxed during the entire treatment!
