What Are Penis Enlargement Surgeries?
Penis enlargement surgeries are procedures designed to increase the girth or length of the penis. There are various procedures available, including the transfer of fat cells, silicone implants, cosmetic surgeries, and more. Depending on your health and your body goals, your healthcare provider will work with you to determine which surgery may be best for you.
At Front Door MedSpa®, we want all of our patients to be as informed as they can be when making decisions about altering their bodies. While we offer Steeyl® male girth enhancement to help increase girth size, there are alternative surgeries out there. Read below to understand what other types of penile enlargement surgeries there are and which one may be best suited for you.
Before Penis Enlargement Surgery
Just like with any surgery, you’ll have to answer specific questions to determine your eligibility for a penis enlargement procedure. These questions can include:
- Are you healthy enough to undergo surgery and anesthesia?
- Do you understand the risks of the procedure?
- Do you smoke or use tobacco?
- Are you circumcised?
- Do you have any health conditions?
- Do you take medications that may interfere with recovery?
- Have you had previous pelvic surgery?
- Have you taken any required psychological examinations?
Your answers to these questions above will help your healthcare providers determine if you’re healthy enough to go through with a penis enlargement surgery.
Types of Penis Enlargement Surgeries
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are a cosmetic penis enlargement treatment where hyaluronic acid (or another substance depending on the provider) is injected under the skin of your penis. It may help increase the girth of your penis, and the results can last one to two years.
At Front Door MedSpa®, we offer Steeyl® male girth enhancement treatment. Call our Rochester office today to schedule your appointment. Our specialists will help you reach your body goals!
Botox
Botox injections can be used to help increase the quality and duration of erections, decrease premature ejaculation, and reduce hyperactive retraction. This can also help the penis hang more and thus appear longer. Botox for penis enhancement, called Bull-Tox® at Front Door MedSpa®, is a non-surgical procedure that requires four injections into the dartos muscle of the penis. To maintain results, we recommend repeated botox treatments.
Fat Injection or Fat Transfer
You’ll undergo a procedure where your surgeon will remove fat cells from a fatty area of the body and inject those cells into the penis shaft. They’ll create small incisions into the sides of the penis and inject those purified fat cells into those areas.
It’s important to understand that results vary widely with this procedure. Some of the injected fat cells may spread unevenly or be reabsorbed by the body. If this happens, your penis may curve, be unevenly shaped, or look irregular.
Silicon Penile Implants
Underdoing penile implant surgery requires the insertion of a silicone device under the skin of the penis to make it look longer and wider. Your surgeon makes an incision above the penis and then inserts the silicon device through it onto the shaft of the penis. The implant is shaped to ensure the proper size and fit for your penis.
If an infection or other problems arise, it may require another surgery to remove the implant. After undergoing this surgery, you may experience scaring, shortening, or curving of the penis. The procedure may also affect your ability to get an erection.
Suspensory Ligament Division
A suspensory ligament division surgery involves lengthening the penis by cutting the suspensory ligament that attaches the penis to the pubic bone. During the surgery, your surgeon will cut the ligament and move the skin away from the abdomen to the penis shaft. While it may appear as though the flaccid penis hangs lower and longer, it doesn’t actually increase the penis size.
In certain cases, severing the suspensory ligament may also be combined with other procedures, including the removal of extra fat over the pubic bone.
Tissue Grafting
Tissue grafting may be used to help increase the length or width of the penis. The surgeon will take a piece of skin or fat layer from another place on the body and then sew it onto the shaft of the penis. In some cases, the graft may consist of other materials.
After Penis Enlargement Surgery
You’ll be given aftercare instructions before the start of your procedure. These will differ depending on the type of procedure you have. You may be prescribed pain medication. If you’ve undergone a more invasive procedure, you may need to rest and refrain from physical and intimate activity for up to six weeks.
Are There Risks or Possible Complications?
Each penile growth surgery comes with the possibilty of risks or complications. Your provider should always inform you of these before deciding to go through with the procedure.
Some of the most common risks or complications include:
- Scarring or an inflammatory reaction
- Bruising along the penis or operation site
- Changes in the shape of your penis
- Bad reaction to anesthesia

Frequently Asked Questions
While each procedure will differ in the length of your recovery, you should expect to take it easy for at least 30 to 60 days. This means no engaging in intense exercise or intimate activity. We recommend working with your doctor during your recovery period to ensure that your penis is healing correctly and you do everything possible to avoid any risks of post-op complications.
While there are many nonsurgical treatments, many of them aren’t FDA regulated and have little to no evidence of producing results. Before starting any of these treatments, we recommend talking with your healthcare provider.
Nonsurgical penis enlargement treatments available include:
- Lotions, oils, or creams
- Penis enlargement pills
- Penile traction devices
- Weights
- Supplements
- Testosterone therapy
The cost of your penis enlargement surgery will depend on insurance coverage and what type of procedure you undergo. At Front Door MedSpa®, we offer cosmetic dermal fillers to help increase the girth of your penis, which will be considerably less expensive than undergoing an invasive procedure.
Our Rochester specialists will always provide you with a breakdown of your treatment cost at your initial consultation. We also offer third-party financing options to ensure each patient can get the care they want.
